Twilight Wolf - Grey wolf in the twilight woods.
'Sasha observes. She feels every breath of wind, each vibration beneath her paws. These wild places are her home, her sanctuary. Reading the woods like a tome, through each branch that cracks and the rustle of leaves.
As twilight deepens and the vibrant life of day stills to a precious lull, she begins to move, scenting, hearing and her keen eyes focusing. Swiftly now, running through the shadows cast by the trees, her breath a song, energy flowing lightening her Spirit. The call of her kin pierces the night, greeting her return.'
Art inspirations: I have chosen to break my own rule by painting a grey wolf, within the Celebration of Life series. The ICUN red list status is LEAST CONCERN.
The grey wolf was on the endangered species list for over 45 years in the US, due to excessive hunting. While grey wolf populations have increased, these stunningly beautiful mammals are still persecuted the world over and laws have been passed where they can be ‘controlled’ by being trapped and poisoned.
Fact: Did you know that wolves are often killed in revenge after they kill livestock, or in fear of attacks on humans?
Threats to species: Conflict with humans and intolerance, loss of habitat.
Name meaning: Sasha – meaning ‘defender’ or ‘helper of mankind’.
Animal symbolism: Wolf leads you to your greatest power. Protector, wisdom and facing your deepest fears.
Wolf symbolism has them as shapeshifters, adapting to the energies of the forest. They are pathfinders and have deeply ingrained intuition. They know the way!
The Painting: All my original art paintings are created using professional acrylic paints and lightfast acrylic inks. Once finished, paintings are sealed with three coats of Liquitex Professional satin varnish.
On the reverse of the painting, I write a message around the edge of the frame. This message comes to me in the moment, is connected to the piece of art I have completed and is a message of encouragement or hope for the buyer. These are secret messages and can only be viewed (prior to purchase) within my online shop.

products. Lightly dust with a clean, dry duster only.
Dropping or repeated bumps to the canvas board or paper, will damage the integrity of the stock and / or art surface.
While every effort is made to use top quality and lightfast art mediums and stock, bright
sunlight and harsh persistent lighting could start to fade the colour of the artwork over an
extended amount of time.
Constant extremes of heat or cold could also impact the integrity of the art. Although the Original Art has been coated with a UV protective varnish; it is strongly recommended that the artwork be professionally framed using a UV reducing and low reflection glass, to further protect the artwork and be able to view unhindered from all vantage points.
