Giant Panda - The iconic bear at the heart of battle for the rights to life.
Art story: Panda sits beneath a canopy of blossom. The breeze ruffle’s petals and rustles the leaves in natures tranquil lullaby. Earth is calm.
Lush green stalks of bamboo are too tempting to waste. Eat your fill. The cycle of life will provide.
Rest a while and absorb the energies of wildlife. Be at peace; balance is at hand.
The Painting: All my original art paintings are created using professional acrylic paints and lightfast acrylic inks. Once finished, paintings are sealed with three coats of Liquitex Professional satin varnish.
On the reverse of the painting, I write a message around the edge of the frame. This message comes to me in the moment, is connected to the piece of art I have completed and is a message of encouragement or hope for the buyer. These are secret messages and can only be viewed (prior to purchase) within my online art shop.
Art inspirations: The Giant Panda shot to stardom in 1990 as awareness grew over their endangered status, and their conservation journey began. Now 30 years on, their IUCN red list classification is VULNERABLE.
As a child, my teddy bear was a well-loved and somewhat tatty giant panda. These charming characters woo tourists the world over due to their antics, it seemed appropriate to make the Giant Panda the first of this painting series.
Note: The iconic bear famed by being at the heart of battle for animal preservation & their rights to life.
Threats to species: Loss of food supplies, habitat fragmentation, climate change, tourism.
Plant symbolism: Cherry blossoms are symbolic as a flower of spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. They represent both birth and death, beauty, and violence. All of which this a wild panda could experience.

Original Art MUST NOT be cleaned with any cleaning
products. Lightly dust with a clean, dry duster only.
Dropping or repeated bumps to the canvas board or paper, will damage the integrity of the stock and / or art surface.
While every effort is made to use top quality and lightfast art mediums and stock, bright
sunlight and harsh persistent lighting could start to fade the colour of the artwork over an
extended amount of time.
Constant extremes of heat or cold could also impact the integrity of the art. Although the Original Art has been coated with a UV protective varnish; it is strongly recommended that the artwork be professionally framed using a UV reducing and low reflection glass, to further protect the artwork and be able to view unhindered from all vantage points.
